Trophy Chefs at Hoar Cross Hall Kitchen brigade shines at Wessex Salon Culinaire

Tom Biddle’s brigade of chefs at Hoar Cross Hall have added more culinary commendations to the hotel’s trophy cabinet.

Already recognised with its first Rosette, Tom’s team competed at the recent Wessex Salon Culinaire and returned with gold and bronze medals. Daniel Johnston, Charlotte Wakelyn and Tom Biddle all competed in various live competition classes in the respected event, which draws in upcoming talent from across the UK and is held in association with The Craft Guild of Chefs.

Tom Biddle, Executive Head Chef, comments: “I’m so pleased with our results; this was Daniel’s first ever culinary competition and he stood up to the pressure of the live environment brilliantly. Charlotte was incredible too and showcased the talent and creativity that is vital in helping us attract a regular and repeat afternoon tea crowd to the hotel.”

Hoar Cross Hall is developing a reputation as a Midlands foodie destination overseen by Tom Biddle, Executive Head Chef. Tom’s love of local, well prepared seasonal ingredients is apparent in all his straight-talking menus. He champions balancing prime cuts with lesser cuts – duos are his signature and, where possible, meat is sourced from a local farmer. Recognising the emergence of healthy eating and greater diversity of dietary requirements, menus also offer a substantial choice for plant-based diets too.

History continues to be in the making at Hoar Cross Hall; a lively social scene where entertaining and great food headline for a new generation of house guests.
