DIY Home Spa

You still deserve to be pampered, even if you can’t spend the day with us here. Read our five mini treatments you can do at home for that little bit of lockdown TLC.

1 Steam Facial

Steaming your face is a great way to cleanse your pores, and give yourself bright glowing skin. Fill a bowl with boiled water and leave to cool slightly so that it is not hot enough to burn you. Add a couple of drops of essential oils, such as tea tree oil, lavender oil or rose oil. Lean over the bowl for a couple of minutes with a towel covering your head to trap the Vapour.

2 Self massage

Head

  • Place your thumbs your cheekbones.

  • Gently apply pressure to your temples with your fingertips making little circles.

  • Move along your hairline, until your fingertips meet.

Shoulders

  • Place your right hand on right shoulder.

  • Squeeze and roll your fingers over the muscle starting from your shoulder and move towards your neck.

  • repeat on your left shoulder.

If you have a foam roller, you can take advantage of the hundreds of YouTube tutorials to release your specific area of tightness from head to toe.

3 Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment

You can treat your scalp to complete natural nourishment from home and all you’ll need is an avocado. Mash the avocado and apply directly to your hair and leave for 10 minutes, then rinse off with cool water. This will both moisturise and repair your hair.

4 Aromatherapy Shower

For a simple spa-like experience in your own shower. Choose your favourite essential oil and add a few drops to a flannel or sponge. Leave this at the bottom of your shower whilst you wash, and let the steam work its magic.

5 Soothing Eye Treatment

Refresh your eyes by using Chamomile tea bags and cucumber are tried and tested remedies to cool and soothe the eyes. Get out some candles, turn on some relaxing music and cover your eyes for ten minutes for a relaxing treat.
